開張也好, 擺攤也好, 都是一件不簡單的事情, 整件事情與布小樺規劃統籌的近兩個月, 我們終於在simple market跟大家見面了. 這次因為有三個設計師一起擺攤, 所以我們有了新的團隊的名子- 手癢 so young.  除了讓郎客可以看到心癢癢的設計, 還想傳達出我們手停不下來, 一有空閒就想做手作的心情.

開店前的一整個禮拜都下貓下狗的沒乾過, 雖然暗暗安慰自己, 如果到時候沒生意, 可以怪老天說天氣不好沒客人. 開店準備的當天也確實下起小雨, 不過令我們更擔心的卻是擺設, 因為小東西太多了, 明明有準時到, 卻也花了45分鐘才開店. 手還不時的發抖!! (因為沒吃早餐), 但最後擺出來的成果, 好像似乎有有模有樣.

人潮大概在3點才開始慢慢湧進, 我們也發現到這會是一個漫長辛苦的一天, 害羞的小樺也鼓起勇氣跟客人介紹我們手工縫製打造的商品.  Ruby, Kay, 安婷小朋友們也力挺我們 努力幫我們拉客.  還有下雨天還帶著寶寶出們的佩薌一家, 老榕, 及郁婷.  對於他們的前來, 真的打心裡開心跟帶著些許歉意. 我們終於在下午的三點多鐘開張了~~~

我其實很熱愛這種認識新朋友的環境!! 尤其是志同道合的朋友!  尤其很多主辦單位的朋友都對我的銀飾很有興趣~ 也認識了 小小, 小鹿, 還有其他也是在這個圈子的新朋友, 被其他人認同, 感覺真的很爽 哈哈哈! 我倒覺得這是我最大的收穫.  所以大家盡管過來跟我聊天八~~

過了5點之後, 人潮漸漸散去, 天色也漸漸黑, 但我卻很喜歡亮起來的市集, 多了一分溫暖, 總算有機會可以跟布小樺坐下來喘一口氣, 我轉過來對他說 "恭喜我們開張順利!!!!"  可以好好體會這份喜悅!  沒想到近打烊的時間, 可能是因為客人比較可以慢慢挑選的關西吧, 反而賣出了不少東西.  也終於能跟旁邊擺攤的朋友Have a nice day 來個進一步的認識. 我唯一的遺憾是因為我太緊張了, 所以沒辦法到處跑, 認識其他攤主, 也忘了跟大家拍照!!! 最後在6.30分的時候開始打烊收攤, 一直到回家睡覺的前一刻都還處於興奮的狀態 

最後謝謝布小樺這個好夥伴, 辛苦了! 還有DAVE一整天都在back up 我, 隨摳隨到, 當我的精神支柱~ 對於下下周 (11.27)再次開張, 也多的一點經驗, 多了一份安心.

所以下次想來看看走走的朋友 可以在11.27星期天 1pm-7pm的時候來跟我們打聲招呼

呼!  簡單生活不簡單~

This is the first time i've tried working on Wax Carving Technique.  I've chosen a more softer blue wax to carve rather then the harder green wax.  The Idea is to carve out a pair of rabbit ear as element, and use those cast elements to make into different jewellery such as earring, rings, necklace or bracelets.   I've thought about using Swarvoski Crystal into the design too.  not sure what the end result will look at.  but this is just some initial design sketch/ working process to show the up coming collection. 

I've made this Necklace/Brooch yesterday and it adds to my Ursa Collection.  This is different to the other delicate pieces from the collection and use the outline of the Bear to form the pendent, it may also be use as a Brooch (i've attached a brooch pin at the back.  I have cut out a piece of Brass to this bear shape and carefully filed the edges & Surface.  I then drill holes to show the position of the Ursa Stars.  One of the Star was cut in slightly bigger size in order for me to set a stone in.  I choose to use the purple amethyst stone of 5mm width.  I believe the colour purple and Golden works wells together and makes the piece stands out more.   Generally, i was fairly pleased with the result and hopeing to make another Ursa Minor (smaller bear) later today.

As a beginner like me, you could often melt your pieces if not careful, therefore there's always some scrap silver left.  There may also be pieces left from cutting out of silver sheet.  But DO NOT throw these away! These scrap silver/gold are still as valuable and can be sold back to the market for money or even made into other form of silver (balls/wire).  In the Ursa Collection, I have chosen to melt the scraps I hold at present into silver balls and transform them into new pieces of work. 

Simply arrange silver balls and wires into the position I desired, I can then easily create star sign based on those simple elements.  However, soldering can be slightly more difficult because there are many junctions to solder and the elements are fairly delicate which may melt easily.  Simply watch out the temperature/distance of the torch and be patient as it does take a lot of time to solder during production.  It would be wise to heat up the ball first then the wire to get evenly spread of heat.  Once soldered into a finish star sign, the piece can then made into earring, necklace, bracelet etc that you desire. 

In this collection, I've added Brass (yellow) to the pieces to give it a twist in colour which I think it works fairly well.  It is the recession, so let’s make some use of the scraps!!!
